Saltbush Kitchen Ballarat is hosting a one off Australian Art, Australian food cocktail party celebrating the 2016 Archibald Prize at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
It's a harebrained endeavour, that takes creativity in food to a whole new level.
Brigid Corcoran of Saltbush Kitchen and Sara Kittelty (of Kittelty's at the Gallery) have chosen 12 portraits from the exhibition and created canapés inspired by each of these artworks, for example, quandong and wild rosella chilli bomb, inspired by Rhys smart mouth, a portrait painted by Melissa Ritchie.
Celebrating Australian art and Australian food, bush foods, Australia’s native ingredients, are the hero in each of the canapés and cocktails being served on the night.
