EMPRESS CANYON

A fantastic abseiling/canyon combination, one of the Blue Mountains' best!

The first half of the day is abseiling, starting with a 5-metre-high cliff and building up to 30-metre-high cliffs during the morning.

After a gourmet lunch it’s a scenic 20-minute walk to the start of the canyon. Wade into the creek that descends the narrow, slot-like canyon and within a few seconds you are jumping into a rock pool, the first of several jumps and swims (don't worry, we provide wetsuits!). This canyon is an exciting affair with water jumps, exhilarating swims, waterslides and fantastic scenery.

The final descent out of the canyon is one of the best waterfall abseils in the mountains. Clip into the rope, step back and follow the 30-metre waterfall down to the deep rock pool below. This is not just a brilliant waterfall abseil but also a fantastic photo opportunity.

    Great weather, good size of the group, equipment in great conditions (wetsuits etc) and a really professional guide (thanks Ben). It was a great and nicely curated experience, Ben was very patient with us and with our pace. Lunch was amazing too!

    Everything about this day was awesome, I could not fault anything, Our guides Tim and Ben were brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and just great blokes, the booking process through Darren and Aiden was easy and helpful. The canyon was beautiful, the abseiling awesome, the equipment spot on, highly highly recommended, I will be back in the future for another canyon.

    Absolutely awesome experience, in unbelievably beautiful location. The locations for abseiling, and the canyon itslef, make it worth doing the trip. But add in the thrills and spills of clambering over rocks, jumping in and out of waterholes, and it's definitely a day to remember! Such a worthwhile experience.

    Absolutely amazing experience, cannot recommend enough. Our guides Luke and Josh, were so passionate and supportive throughout the whole experience. They were also so knowledgeable and we learnt so much throughout the day. An absolute must do whilst you are in the blue mountains. Also a special thanks to another guide Ross who came along with us and was also amazing.

    What a day! We've both abseiled before but this exceeded our expectations. The views whilst overhanging are "breathtaking." Canyoning was a whole new experience and view of the Blue Mountains. So much FUN! THANK YOU Arno for a great day out. We appreciated all your knowledge of our surroundings, your expertise, skills and going at a pace suited to us. We really enjoyed your company.

    Thanks to the awesome guides Ben and Anthony for making the Empress Falls canyoning day so memorable for my partner and I. Highly recommend this tour and High and Wild. They made it a fun day, not pushy when I was fighting nervous for some parts although I felt completely safe at all times. The abseiling in the morning gave us a great taste introduction and the canyon was just stunning to see, that you wouldn't get to see otherwise if not doing the tour, to then reach the top of the waterfall and abseil down, what an unforgettable experience. Can't wait to be able to come back for more. Thanks team!! (also lunch was delicious)
